Sponsorship Program

The Great Lakes Wing of the Commemorative Air Force is a privately funded,
self supporting, non-profit, tax-exempt, all volunteer educational
organization based at the Gary/Chicago Airport in Gary, IN. The CAF
headquarters is based in Midland, TX.

Our mission is:

To preserve, in flying condition, a complete collection of
examples of combat aircraft flown by all branches of the
United States Military services during WWII to present
Day Operation Iraqi Freedom.

To provide museum buildings for permanent protection
and display of these aircraft as a tribute to the thousands
of men and women who built, serviced and flew them.

To perpetuate in the memory and the hearts of all Americans
the spirit in which these great planes were flown for the defense
of our Nation.

To establish an organization having the dedication, enthusiasm
and esprit de corps necessary to operate maintain and preserve
these aircraft as symbols of our American military aviation
heritage.

By keeping these airworthy aircraft in their original configuration as much as
possible, these aircraft are able to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds.

There are several projects that are currently ongoing that require assistance to the
Great Lakes Wing in helping us to carry out our mission.

Raising of money to maintain both aircraft and their engines



Thank you for your contribution to help keep our aircraft flying.
Remember, what started out as a hobby, became an urgent mission to preserve
history. Today the CAF currently ranks as one of the largest air forces in the world
with over 150 aircraft, including fighters, bombers and transports.

Discover what the CAF is all about and remember a time long gone, but not
forgotten. Lest we forget.
